Sintering

The last stage of MIM process involves high temperature firing process with designated atmosphere environment. Sintering temperature is normally 30 – 50°C below melting point of the metal powder, hence the term “solid-phase sintering” process. End product of sintering process is a component with the required densification and optimum properties, with the accurate estimated shrinkage to achieve dimensional requirement as per customer’s drawing.
